Behind the Photos: April

Wondering where these smiles come from? I bet your last guess would be catching rats! This Indian family works in the local fields trapping and collecting rats during harvest season so that they do not destroy the local crops or spread diseases. Imagine working side by side with them. Then one day you mention the parable of the sower. Its meaning is even deeper for those who live and work in agriculture each day. This then expands into a peaceful debate about beliefs.  Months later tears sting your eyes as you watch the baptism of these whom you’ve labored alongside for so long. This is a real possibility. India is a nation that is becoming more and more restricted to traditional missions, but to those skilled in an industry like agriculture or IT, it remains open.
